Connect an Instagram Professional Account

Link your business or creator profile through Facebook and choose it as your Instagram publishing destination.

Before you start

  • An Instagram business or creator account.
  • That Instagram account linked to a Facebook Page.
  • A Facebook login with access to the linked Page and the required permissions.

Prepare Instagram and Facebook

  1. Check your Instagram account type.

In Instagram's account settings, confirm that the profile is a business or creator account. A personal account must be switched to a professional account before this connection path can use it. Instagram may change the wording and location of these settings.

  2. Link the profile to a Facebook Page.

Use Meta's account and business settings to review the Instagram-to-Page relationship. Confirm the actual profile and Page names, especially if you manage several brands.

  3. Check access to the linked Page.

Use a Facebook login that can access that Page and grant the requested permissions. Knowing the Instagram password alone does not establish the Facebook Page access this connection uses.

Scalistro currently connects Instagram through Facebook Login. The linked Page is required for this connection path, even if you only plan to publish to Instagram.

Connect and Select Instagram

  1. Open your brand's Integrations page.

Find Meta and select Connect. Review the overview, then continue with Facebook. If Meta is already connected, use the Instagram slot to open account selection.

  2. Review the accounts shared with Scalistro.

In Facebook authorization, include the relevant business assets and review the requested access. Use the Facebook login associated with your linked Page.

  3. Choose Select Instagram Profile.

Back in Scalistro, select the intended professional profile. Check the username, not just the display name. Save the selected accounts.

  4. Confirm the saved profile.

Review the Instagram account shown in the Meta row. The Page relationship supports authorization; your Instagram profile is the destination you select for Instagram publishing.

Review Before Publishing

Open a ready social creative or Calendar and check the Instagram destination, media format, caption, and scheduled time. Connecting the account does not publish a post. Review the final creative and publishing action separately.

If you change the Instagram account type, linked Page, or business access later, review the connection again. Use Re-authenticate when permissions need refreshing. If a post fails, use its error message to identify whether the issue is authorization, destination availability, or media.
