Set up and connect Meta

Get your business ready on Meta, then connect Facebook, Instagram, and ad reporting to your brand in Scalistro.

PART 1 · GET READY

First, get your accounts ready.

Open the section that matches what you’re missing. Skip anything you already have.

I don’t have a Meta business portfolio

Meta Business Suite is where you manage your business on Facebook and Instagram. A business portfolio groups your Pages, Instagram accounts, ad accounts, and the people who can access them. You sign in with your personal Facebook profile.

Already working with an agency or another owner? Ask them to give your Facebook profile access to the existing business and its assets before creating anything new.

  1. Open Meta Business Suite.

Sign in at business.facebook.com with the Facebook profile you will use to connect Scalistro. If you do not have a Facebook profile, create one first.

  2. Create your business portfolio.

Open the business selector and choose the option to create a business portfolio. Enter your business name, your name, and a business email, then follow the confirmation prompts.

  3. Check your access.

In Settings, check People and the assets assigned to your profile. You need access to each Page, Instagram account, or ad account you plan to connect.

Meta may use slightly different menu labels depending on your account. If you already see the correct business portfolio, use it.

I don’t have a Facebook Page

A Page represents your business publicly. Your personal Facebook profile is the login you use to manage it. Create a Page if you want to publish on Facebook or link a professional Instagram account.

  1. Create your business Page.

In Facebook, open Pages and choose Create new Page. Enter the business name, category, and bio, then complete the setup prompts.

  2. Add it to your business portfolio.

In Meta Business Suite Settings, open Accounts, then Pages. Choose Add and add the Page your business owns. If someone else owns it, request access instead.

  3. Confirm Page access.

Check that the Facebook profile you will use with Scalistro has access to manage and publish content on this Page. Ask the current owner to grant access if it is missing.

My Instagram is personal or isn’t linked to Facebook

For Instagram publishing, use a professional account: Business or Creator. It also needs to be linked to a Facebook Page that your Facebook login can access.

  1. Switch to a professional account.

In the Instagram app, open your profile menu. Find Account type and tools, then Switch to professional account. Follow the prompts to choose Business or Creator and finish setup.

  2. Link it to your Facebook Page.

In your Facebook Page’s settings, open Linked accounts, choose Instagram, and connect the intended profile. Sign in to Instagram when prompted and complete the confirmation.

  3. Check both accounts in Meta.

In Meta Business Suite, confirm that the correct Page and Instagram profile appear together. Check that the Facebook profile you use for Scalistro can access both.

If you only need Facebook publishing or ad reporting, you can skip Instagram setup.

I don’t have a Meta ad account

An ad account holds your paid campaigns, billing settings, and advertising results. You do not need one to publish ordinary Facebook or Instagram posts. Create one only if you plan to run ads; a new account will have no campaign performance to report.

If your business already runs ads, ask the owner or agency which account holds those campaigns. Connect that account so Scalistro can report on its history.

  1. Open Ad accounts in business settings.

In Meta Business Suite, select the correct portfolio and open Settings. Under Accounts, choose Ad accounts, then Add.

  2. Choose the right option.

Choose Create a new ad account for a new advertising setup. If an account already exists, use the option to add an account your business owns or request access to someone else’s account.

  3. Enter the account details.

Name the account and choose the time zone and currency carefully. Follow Meta’s prompts for who will use it and review the terms before confirming.

  4. Give your profile access.

Assign the Facebook profile you will use with Scalistro permission to access the ad account. Confirm that it appears under the correct business portfolio.

  5. Set up billing when you are ready to run ads.

Follow Meta’s payment setup prompts before launching paid campaigns. Adding a payment method is part of advertising setup, not a requirement just to connect an existing account for reporting in Scalistro.

If Meta does not offer Create a new ad account, check your portfolio’s account limit and any account restrictions. Use an existing eligible account or contact Meta support.

Ready? Connect your accounts

PART 2 · CONNECT TO SCALISTRO

Sign in once. Choose the accounts for this brand.

One login. Your choice of accounts.

You connect Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Ads through the same Meta integration. First, give Scalistro permission to access your business assets in Facebook. Then, back in Scalistro, choose one Facebook Page, one Instagram profile, and one ad account for the active brand. You can leave an account type unselected if you do not need it.

The assets you allow in Facebook become available for selection. Granting access does not assign every asset to your brand. Your selections in Scalistro determine which accounts that brand uses.

Only setting up social publishing? Skip the ad account. Only need ad reporting? Leave the social destinations unselected.

1. Open Meta in Integrations

Open the brand you want to work with, then choose Integrations in the sidebar. Find Meta and select Connect. If you are restoring an existing connection, you may see Reconnect instead. Review the setup checklist, then choose Continue with Facebook to open the authorization window.

If the Facebook window does not open, allow popups for Scalistro and try again.

2. Choose the assets Scalistro can access

Continue with the Facebook profile that manages your business assets. Follow Meta’s prompts to grant Scalistro access to the Pages, Instagram accounts, businesses, and ad accounts you need. Include the assets you want to make available to your brands, then select Continue on each screen.

You can grant access to multiple assets here. You will choose the accounts for this specific brand after you return to Scalistro.

3. Review permissions and return to Scalistro

On Review Scalistro’s access request, check the permissions and selected assets. Keep the permissions needed for the publishing and reporting features you plan to use, then choose Save. Complete Meta’s confirmation screen and return to Scalistro.

Wait for the connection to finish. Scalistro will then show the account selector. You do not need to sign in separately for Facebook, Instagram, and Meta Ads.

4. Choose your Facebook Page

In Select Facebook Page, choose the Page you want this brand to use, then select Next. Check the Page name carefully if you manage several businesses. This is the destination for Facebook publishing and the source of available Page insights.

If you only need Instagram or ad reporting, you can continue without selecting a Facebook publishing destination. Instagram still needs its linked Page to be accessible through your Facebook login.

Choose one Page for the active brand, then continue to Instagram.

5. Choose your Instagram profile

In Select Instagram Profile, choose the professional account you want to use. Check its username as well as its display name, then select Next. Leave it unselected if you do not need Instagram for this brand.

If your profile is missing, check that it is a business or creator account, that it is linked to an accessible Facebook Page, and that it was included in the access you granted to Scalistro.

6. Choose your ad account and save

In Select Ad Account, choose the account that runs the campaigns you want to analyze. If the names are similar, confirm the correct account in Meta Ads Manager before proceeding. You can leave this unselected if you only need social publishing.

Select Save to confirm your choices. The button includes the number of selected accounts, such as Save 2 accounts in this example or Save 3 accounts when all three are selected.

Save confirms the selections you made across all three account steps.
Select Ad Account dialog with Titan Pan 4 selected and Save 2 accounts available.

Save confirms the selections you made across all three account steps.

Meta Ads connects campaign reporting and analysis. Connecting an ad account does not launch ads or change your budgets.

7. Check your connected accounts

Back in Integrations, check the names and status under Meta. Each account you selected should appear in its own row. An account you skipped will show Not selected; use its Select action when you are ready to add it.

Before scheduling a post, confirm the destination on your social creative. For reporting, open the relevant Intelligence view and choose a date range with activity. A saved connection does not mean all historical data has finished loading.

Manage access later

If access expires or permissions change, use Re-authenticate in the Meta menu and sign in with access to the same business assets. If an account cannot load, use the reconnect or retry action shown in Scalistro.

Each account slot stays tied to its original asset, even after removal. Contact support if you need to switch that slot to a different Page, profile, or ad account. Check scheduled posts before removing a publishing destination.
